Pet Beetles - A Post from Milly

In Taiwan we have noticed that there are pet beetles in the pet store. Well we went to our Chinese friends house and they have a pet beetle! Everyone held it even me, Levi, and Mom. It tickled when it crawled up your arm. It even crawled up Wade's neck! The beetle was very well-behaved. Now Wade wants a pet beetle for his birthday, but we will see about that.........

Hey Curlee Family! It is so neat to read about your days on your blog. I will continue to check it out! The Pet beetles remind me of my pet cockroaches that I have in my classroom:) You all are very brave for holding those! We head back to school on Monday...the summer has been too fast! Take care...love ya!

    Hello Curlees,
Boy, how I've missed you all! The beetles remind me of our first unit in science (insects). I wish I had one of them for my class. Today is my last pool day because teachers go back Monday. Keep posting pictures. That's my favorite part.

Hey Milly - my daughter, Karis (5) loves beetles, bugs and reptiles of all kinds. She came up the steps of the deck a couple of weeks ago with a snake she found in the yard. I almost had a heart attack - luckily it was only a brown snake, but we then had to sit down and have a LONG talk about why she can't pick up snakes. I think one day she might turn into the female version of "The Crocodile Hunter", Steve Irwin.

Page - LOVE the new hair cut. It suits you quite well. I don't think I've ever seen your hair short, is that a first?

I'm excited that you guys started a blog. I look forward to reading what's happing on your side of the world.

    See ya,

    Monica Winter

Thanks, Monica, but I don't have a hair cut! I just had it pulled back like I do almost every day here since it is so humid! Maybe a haircut is something I should consider, though....

    Love You!

    Kaykee says:
The beetle looks SO big. Milly, will this take the place of a rabbit?
However, I do think a beetle would make a much better pet than other things I can think of...
    love you all
