First Day of School

Monday, August 14, was the first day of school for all the Curlee kids. Milly is now in 6th grade - yes, middle school! She has a locker and changes classes for the first time. She is especially pleased that she sits next to her friend, Cynthia, in almost all her classes (see photo).

Wade is in the 4th grade. His teacher is very structured which is good! He is enjoying himself so far. His favorite thing is playing basketball on the playground before and after school with a group of 5th graders! By the way, we could not get a good picture of him in class.

Hunter was the most excited about school. He is in the 1st grade. His teacher is very sweet. After the first day, she said Hunter would have to learn to raise his hand before talking, but she was glad to have such an enthusiastic student in class. He has enjoyed reuniting with all his buddies from his time in kindergarten last spring.

We were a little nervous about Levi going back to Chinese preschool. We have been very blessed - there is a family here for six months to study language, and they have a boy Levi's age who goes to preschool with him! Now Levi is not the only foreigner in the school. He really seems to like going, and he likes his new teacher.

Thank you for all your prayers about their first day!!

It's always SO good to get the first week of school behind you!!
Sounds like everyone did fine...Milly you didn't tell me that your best friend sits beside you in every class. THAT should make things better.
We can just picture Wade beating the 5th graders in basketball. What fun that he can play before and after school...that's good for
Wade.
I love that Hunter is excited about 1st grade. He's the oldest of our "2000" babies. I'd love to have him in my room.
And Levi...God sent him a friend to make this start easier.
How about Mom and Dad? Good to have everhyone back on a schedule?
Love to all
Pa and Kaykee

I would love to be Wade's 4th grade assistant. I missed that opportunity but that's OK. I am glad to hear he is adjusting so well.
I just learned about your web page.
This is wonderful!
Love and prayers,
